question re tests

I'm really sorry about this, but I'm a hunter/jumper and am just going in to dressage,, but do you actually have to remember your test or does someone call it out to you?

Hello.

You can have a caller under British Dressage rules but not British Eventing so if you are just doing a dressage comp you should be fine but if its dressage as part of a One Day Event, you generally can't.

You'll be fine with a caller then. I always use one despite learning the tests inside out as it just makes me feel more confident.

I think it's only up to a certain level in BD that you can have a caller? It's on the rules somewhere.
I like having a caller, otherwise I forget to ride and I just steer! :rolleyes: Doesn't do any good for my percentages! lol
