Hello ...
It's after 4:am and I still can't sleep! This isn't really a horsey topic so I shouldn't really be using the board to post, but our daughter is due to give birth in 2 weeks time, and whilst I'm so excited about it, I'm far more nervous than I was about my own births ... If she knew how I felt she wouldn't believe it ... and she is a confident and competent young woman with a loving and supportive husband, so what the heck am I dithering about !!!
Any new or experienced Grandparents out there to help me sleep? Postings very welcome if you'd like to email me?

To get to sleep if I'm having trouble, I read before that drinking milk a bit before you go to sleep will help. However, some people can't drink milk, so another thing was to take a soothing bath a few hours before going to bed. If you see a doctor, the doctor can prescribe sleeping pills but these are addictive. Another idea is that you could exercise so you're physically and mentally tired so your body won't resist going to sleep. I hope this helps some.

Thanks for your email |Laya, but baby has arrived now ... two weeks early ... seems I must have had some kind of premonition it was imminent and that's why I couldn't sleep.
Jacob is just gorgeous, and we are all delighted of course, and I can sleep again ... not so the new parents unfortunately ... he arrived in just 4 hours ... very speedy for a first baby ...
Many thanks again for your kind reply Laya ...

Dear Anne,
Congratulations on the birth of your grandson, you must be delighted.
I have one son nearly 17, and I cannot wait to be a granny.

Hello Beverley ...
Thank you so much for your congratulations! I have this uncontrollable urge to rush out and tell everyone I'm a new Granny ... it's such a fantastic feeling ...my husband Peter is very laid back about the whole thing ... but I can't wait for Jacob to be old enough to introduce him to horses and bash away at my piano, and read stories to ... I'm going to be just awful!!!
Not too long before your 17-year-old makes you a Granny also ... doesn't seem five minutes ago that our daughter was 17 ... or when she was a tiny baby ... or our son for that matter ... time just flies by doesn't it?
Thanks again Beverley ...
Best Regards
Anne
