custom avatar???!!!???

When I go into my 'edit avatar' thingy, it says you can uplaod custom avatars, and it has a box, where you type in the url (no idea what that is!)
but how do you actually get the URL, is there meant to be a hyperlink, or is there a special page in nr for it?

Right click on this smily :) go down to properties and you will see its URL that comes up in the grey box
httq://www.newrider.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif (except I've changed the p in http so you can see it.) Thats a URL

Any picture you upload onto the net will have one of these URL's its the pictures address. If you have a small enough picture uploaded somewhere on the net you can copy its URL and use it for your avator.

If you want to upload pictures you can use a picture hosting site like www.photobucket.com

If the avator is the right size NR will automatically host it for you, use the browse option.
