Hi! I need to find out a way to convence a stubborn dad who doens't like to spend money to let me take horseriding lessons!!!
OK so I have wanted to ride for 2 years. I mentioned it once to him and he said he'd think about it!! When I asked him what his answer was like a day or two later he siad," I didn't say maybe!!"
OK my mom is tottaly up for it. She says it is up to my dad though. OK so my plan is to do alot of things helpful this week, have my mom tell my dad about it. On the 15 of this month (July) I leeve for Solid Rock Bible Camp in Wasilla, Alaska. Today is the 10. Then I go to camp, there I do horsemanship. I take pictures of the horses and having fun. Then when I get back I explane how much fun it was with the horses. My mom said she'll look up on lessons. I'll still do good things around the house. Then one day me and my mom will bring up the subject of camp and horses. I'll ask him. I'll let him think!!!
I NEED A BACKUP PLAN!!! [/SIZE]

visit my horse site (http://www.expage.com/myhorsepageforever)

If you help out at your local riding stables, doing general chores like grooming and mucking out, you may get free rides. Also, doing the work will prove to your dad that you are serious.

Have fun at your camp! Hope I helped.

Good Luck and Happy Landings!

ps. I signed your guestbook - check it out :)

How about you suggest to your dad that the two of you go riding together...you could say you want to spend quality time together, and riding's a nice peaceful sport that the two of you could enjoy together.

I have the same problem. My dad doesn't think riding is a worthwile sport. So he pays me 20$ a week. Lessons are 25$ so I have to find chores or something extra to earn the 5$. Remember: Riding is an expensive sprot/hobby. Make sure your parents can afford it before you press the issue too much. If they can, bring up all the good things you do. Grades, chores, whatever. Offer to pay for the lessons. If you can't afford that, at least offer to pay part. Beyond that I can't be of much help.Good luck!:)
