Hi, in september i am going to an equine college and i have applied for the folloing course...

BTEC NATIONAL DIPLOMA HORSE MANAGEMENT

i chose this course as it was the highest level course, (you have to get 5 GCSE's at grades A-C) i could do at my age (16 years) it is a 2 year course that can lead onto any equine job such as ....
instructors
grooms
or even onto higher courses

could anybody tell me if they have done this course?
was it worth the 2 years?

Thanks
Kaylee

Ive done the course, finished it last june. I basically got a qualification in sweeping  I did become a groom but really didnt like it. In my first year I was actuallystudent of the year :p but slacked abit in the second year as it got a bit booring. I took event management instead of the jumping module and got a bit left out in my riding lessons because the rest of my riding group did jumping, it was sort of the higher riding group jumped and the lower group did event management, apart from me. You have to do a realy big assignment in business management in the 2nd year.
Other than that I quite liked college, I made some really good friends, mostly horsey, and had a real good time going down the pub :p :D

the first year isn't too bad, i managed to have a horse and do all my work, and still to go out partying every night!

And they do do turnout there is just about 1 month a year where they dont but they might doing it. ollie used to go out usually everyday for a few hours.
only thing is the mud is really clay and hard to get off.
