Has anyone had experience of these saddles good or bad?

I was thinking/looking at the Verona range which is a combination of leather on the top and synthetic underneath.

Thanks

Yes, we've got 4 of them!

I started off with the Heather Moffett Easisit dressage which they no longer make (and is for sale if anyone is interested!) then bought a Verona GP. Then my OH had a Verona dressage and GP. I am only parting with my Easisit due to problems with my hips and back - I find it just too wide, although my long-legged trainer (typical dressage rider figure!) is fine with it, and I will be ringing Dave soon to make me a brown Verona dressage with suede seat and knee rolls.

So yes, you could probably say I like them!

Was looking at some saddles yesterday and noticed how heavy they all felt - the half leather half synthetic are significantly lighter (makes life much easier when you're 5'4" and your horses are 16.3 and 17hh!) they look great and are easy to clean.

The customer service is excellent too, we have had alterations/repairs done very promptly (OH works just down the road from The Saddle Co. so that helps!)

pm me if you want any further info.

I have one too and would always recommend them. They're light, well made and great value for money. The serge panel is very comfortable for the horse, and the fact the tree can be widened or narrowed easily as often as you need means your horse will never outgrow the saddle. I'll second about the customer service too, it's superb.

we have....err??? I've lost count, it has to be about 10 now I think. They have all stood riding school abuse, and being dropped on the floor by the flippin' vet at our inspection.

I love them, so do the horses, as mentioned, big soft serge panels, well designed, really good soft seat, light and excellent value for money.

I strongly recommend them. :D :D

Delighted with them, and even more impressed by the ever growing band of mobile fitters to adjust that tree!

I've had two, now got a treeless otherwise I'd still have them. Nicest treed saddles I've ridden in, fatty was happy in them (she really likes to make her opinions known if she doesn't like a saddle). So comfortable I never got around to attaching my seat saver!

Another fan of the Saddle company saddles here, ive got a working hunter verona and its great. The guys at Walsall are really helpful, mine was a difficult saddle to make I believe and they kept me informed all the way and asked plenty of questions to get it right.

Nicola, I am only selling the saddle cos it doesn't suit me 100% (fits the horse fine). And I haven't been able to progress with jumping my mare as she's had a sore back (unrelated to the saddle). As she's western trained, jumping is a "nice to have" and having a spare saddle sitting around doing nothing is a waste of my time (and money !). They're nice saddles, I just can't afford to have a saddle taking up room in the tack room and not being used :(

The only problem I have with the Easisit is that because they were only made for a short while, not many folk have heard of them, so aren't really aware of the benefits... which makes it harder to sell them cos people "know" the main brand names. The more main stream Saddle Co saddles may not have the same problem.

When I got my easisit, it was not cos I planned to sell it so soon  Its just worked out that way. Bad planning on my part - my western saddle didn't fit so I'm getting a new one there and will have ANOTHER saddle in the tack room  So I really have to do something....

Where did people get them from? Although I'm not far from Walsall, they don't sell directly to the public - shame.

i got mine from my local saddler, walsall will tell you who stocks their saddles, my saddler altered mine as it wasn't a perfect fit to start with, but this can be done at walsall....

Are you sure? I'm sure Dave who runs the company told me they had a shop? Worth checking, I know he does fittings too.

Dave and his business partner Anne own a shop in Bridgnorth called 'Everything Horsey'. Our saddles were bought through the shop, but we never went there, Dave and Anne came to our yard to measure and fit them -the advantage of living near Walsall!

You can come and try ours if you're not far away Nicola!

CVB - will do! And if you hear of anyone after a dressage, pass 'em on to me!

Took the plunge, gave the Saddle Co a call and spoke to Dave. THey don't sell directly to the public but as GingerThing points out, his partner Ann has the shop Everything Horsey in Bridgenorth, so the saddle will purchased from the shop, although Dave will come out and fit it for me.

Have talked OH into letting me have one, especially as they have recently designed one for cob horses with point and balance straps etc. Sounds like they can virtually custom fit it for the horse and not too badly priced either. See how it goes!
