I was wondering what is involved in novice dressage tests :o as i am working on bettering our dressage score (for eventing) but he tends to get bored by the prelim style tests and i really want something to work on and better myself and scooby. I was hoping with novice it would give him more to think about.
thanks :D

ooooh that sounds like something do able :) if i did alittle more work with scooby monster, with ALOT of persadsion we can lengthen a little in trot :o

and the start of counter canter. You'll find you're more likely to get smaller (10 or 15m circles or half-circles) in Novice as well - it asks more throughout the test....

Yes, the difference might be that in prelim you get E to X 10m half-circle in walk, same X to B - but in Novice it might be in trot, which means accuracy becomes even more important !
I know what you mean about the challenge - Fi seems to "prefer" the more complex prelims. I think the simpler ones with loooong bits of straight lines and doing the same thing give her too much opportunity to think... ;)

we did it in trot at the weekend it was the riding clubs horse trials dressage we got 7s for that bit the only 7s we got! lol!! typical me get the hard bit ok and mess up the easy bit
Yeah the less time hes got to think about one movement and if more is asked is asked the more he gives ive found, i just want to keep him ticking over and thinking (not jumping on the summer ground) and me something to think about and work with :)
