The best place to go for advice and a loan agreement is the British Horse Society Web site. They can give you a lot of legal advice. Ask other folk about their experience, good and bad. It can be a big responsability. Good luck

Well, it all depends on the agreement! Look around for adverts and ask what they are asking! You some times have to pay a bit!
If ya want to know more, email me with qeustions!

hi, thanx for the info.cobbie + wally.
i've had a horse on loan at a stables before but it wasn't on 'proper' loan, really all it were was i paid 15 quid a week and i could go and ride the horse anytime + anywhere i wanted.(my friend also had the same deal).
so, has anyone got/had a horse/ponie on 'proper' loan?
what type of insurance do i need?
could someone also give me some basic info. on having a horse because i've been riding for ages but im not sure about the responsibilities and jobs.
is there any courses that i could go on to learn more about stable management?
thanx!

Hello - the owner of the horse that I lease started her freshman year of college this year, so I was basically leasing her horse to keep it excercised for her. I had to pay 1/2 of the monthly board, 1/2 shoeing, and her dad is a vet, so I didn't have to worry about with that. I went out and rode whenever I wanted. However, since school is out, etc...I ended my lease (I probably won't get that much time to ride her). Hope this helped!
