I have 2 new horses!!

Remember me? I posted to this forum a few months ago. At the time we were leasing a paint mare month to month. Unfortunately, the owners decided to sell and we didn't buy her since she didn't work out well for my OH (who got bucked off and broke his ribs). We then began looking for a horse of our own, preferably an old, very calm gelding. Now several months later, we have bought two thoroughbred mares, True n Blue (call name Abby)age 7 and Cabernet Sauvignon (call name Sauvy) age 11. I am still kind of in shock and can't believe I now own two horses. Basically, after trying many, many horses I fell in love with one, only to be outbid by impulse buyers at the last moment. We then ended up buying a horse that was in a terrible situation, just to rescue it. A few days after that purchase, the horse I loved was returned to the previous owners because the people changed their mind. The owners called us and asked "Do you still want her?" and my wonderful husband said "Sure, why not" So now I have two horses--anyone ever gone from 0 to 2? I think I will need lots of advice! I will probably post lots from now on!

I infact went from looking for a pony to loan to being given Misfit for free (Shetland X) and then buying Willow (Arab X Welsh). We just felt so sorry for Misfit and he was off to the meat factory if not so we had to say yes. Willow is wounderful and anouther rescue who needs alot of work with her both riden and on the ground.

Hope you have many years of fun with them both.

I really have to figure out how to post pictures, I would love everyone to see them. They are both chestnut colored, one with a snip and two white socks, the other with a blaze. Sauvy, the 11 year old was the one I originally fell in love with. She is so sweet and calm. The other one, Abby, has lots of dressage and jumping training but after a nasty accident with barbed wire and a prolonged recovery she was traded to a teenager who put her in a tiny pipestall with insufficient food at a place that rented out horses to non riders for trailrides. She was in sorry shape. When I rode her, I realized the stuff she could do and was amazed. We bought her when the teenage girl was leaving for the summer, just leaving the horse behind. We have since contacted the previous owner and found out more about her. She is in a nice boarding stable now and even in a week, her ground manners have significantly improved, now that she is getting better care and sufficient food. We bought them 3 weeks ago, but only brought them home last week. I will try to post pics soon.
