I was hoping someone on here would be able to help me identify the weed thats growing in one of my paddocks. it appeared this spring. sorry i don't have any pics but will try to describe it!! it grows to only between 1 and 2 inches high, its leaves look like parsely/dill (sorry but thats the best thing i could come up with!!) and it doesn't have any flowers, but does have yellow spherical bits at the top. i need to know if its harmful so i can spray it and re-seed the paddock before summer is over. thanks in advance for any ideas :D

i've got quite alot of pineapple weed too this year , the horses don't seen to be fussed for eating it ,but i don't think its harmful ,& i have sprayed it with pastor & it is def dying
it has seemed to spead like mad which is what led me to spray it
seems to be mostly in the poor areas of the field . eg near the gates etc

thats exactly where mine is, but its spreading!! june/july is its flowering time. i'm just relieved its not harmful to the horses. what killer did you use?? how long do you have to keep them off the area after spraying??
EDIT: andreaB, i found this on it, just incase you were interested!!

Ha! Pineapple weed eh? Have seen loads of that about, especially at old farm, and got rather paranoid it was some kind of mutant dwarf ragwort out to get us :D Nice to know what it is :)

Apparently its related to chamomile. mine actually eat the stuff and i was a bit panicked, like you i thought it was a form of ragwort!!

At the last yard I was at that stuff envaded the place, like you I was so paranoid about it because I simply never knew what it was. Glad to know it's nothing dangerous... though it does look like some mutant ragwort!

I've got loads of it growing on my driveway, which I've just sprayed so don't know if it's worked yet.
I thought it was a type of groundsel but just googled it and it looks slightly different.
My horses aren't interested in it luckily.
