Farrier came out last night and I have had some problems with Drummers fronts, (where the white line is, I am getting this extra flexible growth but not on the toe where Drum breaks over!) I kind of suggested that maybe they were a bit flared and couldn't we tighten them up a bit and he said that he already has boxy feet, what does he mean by this?

Also, my friend was there and she wasn't very impressed by him, he is quiet (I think he's a bit shy!)but he doesn't really answer your questions, he didn't know what the extra growth was, although he took on board what I asked and gave Drummer a bit more of a mustang role and didn't take any sole off this time. He probably thinks I'm a pain in the neck!

Boxy feet are ones which are more upright (the angle toward the ground is higher) than the is considered perfect. I believe this type of foot is common on native ponies who are unshod.

Boxy feet are upright. Flare still shouldn't be left though even on boxy feet. Might be worth checking the heel height as too high heels can make normal feet seem boxy.

Ta, I think I know what you mean but I still wouldn't say Drummers feet are boxy!
