As some of you will know Flash has been suffering from Mastitis on and off for the past 6-8 weeks. I thought she was coming on a bit better there from the weekend but noticed last night that she was very stiff and sore. Whle I was checking her over I noticed the whites of her eyes were yellow and on checking her gums they were yellow too. She took this last November too so I don't know what is going to happen now! Waiting on the vet coming out to see her, I dragged her into the stable this morning, it took me half an hour to get her onto her feet and in through the yard from the field!

Trying to keep busy but am so worried, I'm not sure if she can come back from this liver failure again (if that's what it is) as she's now 22.

Feeling very blue :(

vet out, he's taken a full blood culture and will have the results tomorrow. I let her walk about the yard at teatime tonight and she still wasn't great but when I spoke to the vet after that he said he was out at 4.30 and given her pain relief, anti inflammatory and a vitamin jab and by 8.30 tonight when I was back up to feed she was much more alert and much more spritely on her feet.

We will know more tomorrow but already I'm seeing some positive signs of improvement so hopefully we have caught any underlying problem quickly.

I'll keep you posted.

Fingers crossed that she can pick up. Liver problems are not good news at any age

vet due out again today, she's gone downhill again, this morning she was terrible and I was up again there now and she is being a little more vocal about being stabled but then there was activity around the yard. She isn't drinking at all which is really worrying!
