Hi everyone - well my new horse has been with me now for 19 days and he has had 17 trips on the float (counting the to's AND from's). I did my first forest ride last weekend with a supportive friend - I was so nervous - I ahdn't been out of an arena for so long. It was great fun. This week (only) I have had a few problems with floating him.....now I found out the saddle I bought with him for $2000 doesn't actually fit him and digs into his back....and then I entered into a Dressage Competition (Prelim 1.1) for this Sunday but I have had to scratch because I now have no saddle. :(

I even bought beige jodphurs!! Oh well - I have ages to do those things - would rather not damage his back.

He is sometimes (when other horses are being led away and if he is expecting you to give him food) pushy with his nose so we are having some groundwork lessons this Saturday.....but I LOVE HIM SO MUCH - he is so cute/handsome.

Wow, you two have done a lot together already!

I'm sorry to hear about the saddle. What a dissapointment! Good for you for doing the right thing, though, and holding off until you get a better-fitting saddle in. I suppose you'll have plenty of more opportunities to wear those beige jods.

Cute baby photos! :p Couldn't you just snuggle him to death! :D

He is such a pale polomino, and his mum looks like a cremello, although I'm not very good with these things. There's some very knowledge people around on the board who would be able to have a good stab at exactly what his dad looked like :)

Well I do have a photo of his Dad too (yes his Mum was a Cremello) - if anyone wants to have a guess.... :)
