as i live in Northern Ireland, its the SJAI over instead of the BSJA. because iv never competed in registered jumping can anyone explain to me exactly how the points system over here works as im slightly confused!

Hey, replying to your thread weeks after you posted it but anyway!
Yep, you get points either everytime you jump a double clear (ponies:D and CD classes and horses 90cm-1 point, 1m 2 points, 1m10 - 3points, 1m20 3 points) or if you are placed in a class, eg. 1st 6 points, 2nd 5 points etc.
You are divided into a different grade depending on how many points the horse has. for example in ponies grade D is less that 75 points. In horses grade E is less than 30 points and to be grade A you need over 200 points.
The number of points can be translated into bsja winnings by 1 point = £9 in winnings.

cheers 4 that! i kinda knew the jist of it all but needed 2 b told exactly wat it was lol! cant wait 2 start it...did a lot of showjumping wen i was younger but havnt got 2 registered...then i got my own horse and started schooling him and still havnt got him competing lol! itl take me at least another year b4 i get 2 it as iv just bought a 4 yr old so a lot has 2 b done lol...wat do u do urself? where r u from?

hey! im from just outside belfast, near lisburn. used to to sjai on my old pony years ago but these days i just ride other peoples horses. i've a horse of my own whos been lame with laminitis all summer so im just bringing him back into walking around now. had been planning on doing registered on him but hey! typical horses :rolleyes: whats your 4 year old like?
