Do pregnant mares urinate/pee more often?

Hello!

I can't seem to find any information on this so was hoping someone could enlighten me!?

Do in-foal mares pee more often, i'm not sure where abouts the foal lies and if it's the same as pregnant women? My mare has proper full-blown pees, not squirting and has been like this since we got her 4 weeks ago. We already suspect she is pregnant but as i cant headcollar her i cant get a vet out! Please help!

Is is yellow or clear?

One of my horses was urinating frequently, and it was always clear. My vet said that the kidneys weren't concentrating the urine enough; she told me to give the mare a lot of salt (palmful) every day and that would help. It did.

Hi!

It is definately yellow! She did about 3 proper pees in 1 hour the other day :eek: I just wasn't sure if they were like humans and the foal could disturb the bladder. Her stomach has dropped and quite hard underneath, i cant yet headcollar her and am just working on stroking her at the minute, i have looked at her teats, she still looks like a maiden mare. She was running with colts and a stallion so i'm not suprised!

Oh, boy, if she was running with uncut boys then there's a good chance she is. Sure, when a mare gets more heavily pregnant that foal can put pressure on EVERYthing in the abdominal cavity; a baby horse is huge!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure she is, wish i could upload some pics! I'm hoping to collect some pee tomorrow and take it to the vets :D I've been having a feel of her belly and it definately feels as tho something is in there, it's pretty lumpy. ;) Thanks for the replies, be happy when i put my mind at rest it's driving me crazy!
