Hi,

I have a horse embarrasment problem! Is it normal for geldings to -eek how do i put this!- ah i know! Is it normal for a gelding to 'stand to attention' for no reason! :o I have seen buddy do it on and off since i got him 5 months ago. He will be just standing in the field staring into space and you know what i mean! :o Theres nothing wrong with him doing it i was just wondering if it was normal for a gelding (I know stallons do) Thanks.

My gelding does it when he's enjoying being groomed, when we've just come back from a hack, or when there's lots of people round to see! :o Any opportunity really.

I think they tend to "let down" when they are relaxed, funnu though, it never seems to happen when someone has rubber gloves and warm water at the ready to wash them :D

I knew a horse who used to do it a lot, also named Buddy.
Very embarassing for him in shows :p

When my mare comes into season for the second time in the Spring, Murphy (gelding) gets very excited!
He actually mounts her, I haven't watched to see what happens after but I have had him checked and he is definitely a gelding.

I have heard this is quite usual, especially in horses that were gelded late..so no need to worry.

My first pony used to use his ...to swot flies under his tummy ..hehehe!

The first time I took my dad to meet Jake, he went a bit mad with his digital camera, and the nicest pic is somewhat spoilt by Jake taking the opportunity to have a naughty dream!

You might think I'm pulling your leg, but I'm not. One of our geldings, named (yes, you guessed it) Buddy, has the same over-active imagination, or if it's not his imagination, it's his Viagra. Oh. Wait. We don't feed him Viagra....

Buddy's definitely muscular though... :D

Flint does it when I'm grooming him - I don't mind particularly, but it is a little embarrasing when non-horsey people are around, particularly when I haven't seen them there and am merrily brushing his tummy :D
