I got a thin turnout and a thick turnout a few years ago. The thin turnout leaked like a sieve in a moderate shower first time on, so they both got sent back for a refund. Apparently it was a common problem and they'd had a few back. They might have got better since but personally I wouldn't risk one again.

I have a heavyweight turn out and the fly rug and both are great. They don't rip easily which is good and the turnout rug is waterproof.

I have one and like it. It is nice and cosey. Never leaks. My horse has ripped it but it was unlucky that he caught it on the seam.

They were a bit flimsy when they came out first, stitching on surcingles not great but they've upped the standard and last year's will be in action again next year.

my icon rug was a complete waste of time, but i bought a rhinegold lightweight turnout on ebay for about £20
compared to my amigo, it isnt as good a quality, but it is reasonable. I have found it to be waterproof, doesnt slip and doesnt rub. The buckles have not yet rusted or broken, and the stitching is fine. This is with (so far) 6 months use. Another good point i found is that the gussets at the front allow for great freedom of movement, unlike some other rugs which are fully strecthed whilst the horse is standing.
On the downside, i have found the surgicles to be quite a snug fit, so if your horse is a bit on the tubby side you may find it wont fit around. :)
also, occasionally the top buckle at the front will come undone, for no obvious reason.
I bought this as a cheapy rug that Happy would only be wearing occasionally during srping and autumn. For a rug that is going to be worn for long periods of time, I would suggest a slightly better quality rug, although H has worn hers for days at a time quite comfortably.

I bought a lightweight rug from eBay for £30 and it was a waste of money. It leaked, it didn't fit properly and it rubbed poor Jake's neck raw :( We got shot of it really quickly and bought a Shires rug.

Thought I'd post to let you know that both of mine have now burst. The turnout one ripped along the seam. The stable one just split at the seams. I have a turnout that I've yet to use so I will post how I get on with it.

If it's unused you'd be better off trying to send it back as unfit for purpose and getting your money back. I got a refund on 2 turnouts after 1 leaked. The other was unused. In fact, in your position, I'd be tempted to try and get a refund on all of them. Go back to where you got them from first and if they can't help, ask for a customer services contact at Rhinegold. Worth a try as you might be pleasantly surprised. Depends if they want a reputation for fair customer service ;)

My rheingold ripped along the side seam, I thought the quality was average, the fit was reasonable, it did not leak but I would not buy another one. (Actually I did not buy it, with hindsight, it came brand new with Dolly Cob and did not last the season, so I bought an Amigo middleweight - quality rug!)
