is it a half 10m circle from B to X? Which test are you doing?

2 10m half circles from B to E? imagine an S on its side. Make sure you have 2 steps on the straight facing A or C before you start the 2nd half circle.

A 10m half circle at B would surely be a demi vault?

So you come back to the track at F/M dependent on what rein you are on, so you in effect change the rein?

What test is it and how is it worded exactly?

Thats what I was wondering, but in most Prelim tests the half-volte starts nearer the quarter marker to give you lots of room for the incline back... and I'm guessing this is a prelim or similar test. So I suspect its half circle one way to X and halt circle the other to E ?

Yes, that's what I thought it was .... do a half 10m circle from B to X then another half 10m circle from X to E.

As in Prelim 4? Where you do the 2 yes?

Some walk and trot tests have the demi vault from B/E to the quarter marker aswell.

No I think you've gotten lost because you normally halt at X.

What's your instruction before E-X ? are you coming from C\H? This simply means that you turn onto the centre line and then ride down it to G

EX: half circle left 10m diameter
X: down centre line
G: halt-salute

Remember that an arena is 20m wide so any 10m circle touches the centre line. Half a 10m circle will either bring you into the centre line from the perimeter or back onto the outside from the centre line. Half 10m circle simply means that you make a nicely formed arc (correct bend) when going to and from the outside track to the centre line.

I'm thinking this right? Except for the fact I can't draw very well so I'm not quite circling to x (although I'm sure its a fairly accurate representation of what I'd actually do if I tried it:) )

Izzy - as you will see from the pictures posted - you've been making it to complicated !! ;)

You literally need to follow the instructions as written i.e. you go from E to X with a left handed half-circle. If you did nothing else, you would be left, halted at X, facing C. (If you did a FULL circle you would end up back at E - but thats not what the instruction says !!)

So the next instruction is "X down centre line" - so do that ;) down the centre line towards C. Then when you get to G, halt, salute.

Putting it basically if you are coming from H then do the 10m half circle left from E to X and then up centreline to halt at G you are doing a back to front J shape.
