kicking

Hello every one

Just a quick question does any have a horse that kicks other horses? if you do you may be able to help but ive not found many people with the same problem as me! but has your horse improved ? and how have you acheived this?

just a quick over view of my horse! she is a 7yr TB mare i have owned her for about a year now she has kicked a few horses like if we just walk past them or if you get to close on a hack ect. I now find that this limits the amount of people that want to ride with us! (of course no one wants to get there hotse kicked) but how can i help get my horse over this.

(She has also been known to try and kick me ouch!!! but this has not happened in a while)

We have being doing some ground work and she has improved so much but i feel the kicking thing is holding me and her back as i would be worried taking her to show and things ect. any ideas needed

ollie used to kick all the time (only other horses). but i think it was cos he was bored with his work(got him from riding school) and everytime he tried i used to just really kick him on, but i think he actaully got out of it himself. he wouldn't even try it now!
but with mares its a bit different i think, if i was you i would just really kick her on when she tries and if she doesn't listen back it up with your stick. i dont mean to sound like i want you to beat her up, but she does need to no its dangerous and she cant do it. she needs to leave all that for in the field when the other horse can chance to run! lol
and for the kicking people, also be firm she needs to learn, as it could be so dangerous

yeh my loan pony has been known to kick out but I gave her a small, sharp smack with the whip and kicked her on everytime she did it. Now although she moves round as if she will try and kick another horse or pony she just sqeals and then walks away so she doesn't actually kick out anymore.
