Is this normal? Sometimes before I go out to a lesson I am so anxious that I get nauseous (sp?)....not really sure if it's nervousness or just intense excitement. Once I'm mounted and riding I am completely fearless and focused and have the time of my life. I I just can't seem to relax beforehand. Please tell me this is normal and that I'm not crazy! :)

I hate competing, but convinced myself to enter a dressage comp. I complained all morning that I had a tummy bug, thought I was going to throw up half way through the test. It was only when it miraculously disappeared after the test that I realised it had been nerves all along. :o

any thoughts on how to relax? I mean it's just a lesson already...there's no reason to be nervous. Maybe I'm just a perfectionist and want everything to go perfect. My hubby suggests a little bit of Bailey's Irish Cream with breakfast....it's worth a shot (or maybe 2!)! :p

rescue remedy, huh? I had never heard of it until I came to this site...it seems a few people swear by it. I will go get some tomorrow!
Thanks for the tips :)

I don't think you ever really get rid of it! I've had my horse for 6 months now and still get butterflies when I go to see her! Its all part of the fun :o

Yep, get some rescue remedy. You can get it from Boots. Its brilliant. Doesnt make you drowsy or sleepy either.

You must be normal or we are all nuts. I feel exactly the same way every time I drive out to the stable and particularly before lessons! The first time I took my new horse to a lesson, I didn't eat all day and made myself sick with worry.
