Im thinking very like MG in her post on the SJ board but this time for Dressage. Ive been riding for about 10 years and have recently developed a love for dressage (partly through hating jumping lol). Ive always wanted to ride horses for a living and if i can combine that with competition success, all the better. Im kind of inbetween horses right now and at 16 i want to buy a horse that can take me places, i want to affiliate and get as far as i can.

Basically what im asking is, how does one go about becoming a higher level competitor? How do you know if you have what it takes and its worth trying to achieve a dream that may never come true? Any stories, tips, what kind of horse i should go for etc. much appreciated. I can post pics of me riding if that helps?

Im hugely serious about this and even if im not at London 2012 (competing anyway) i want to be as good as i can be.
