View Full Version : Does anyone else feel...

Does anyone else feel like they've been pounded into the ground? I thought I felt bad on Sunday - an hour on a bouncy horse the day before - but I'm going to be dying tomorrow. I jsut spent another hour on Bubba. Only one thing - bareback. I never seemed to touch his back at a trot (I was in the air), but when I tried to stop from a canter, it killed. Not to mention that I kept riding with one leg up in the air as he was trying to run me into the rail.
And falls never seem to feel too bad unless I pull or sprain something.

You poor thing! Get well soon!
I've been banned from riding, cycling, swimming, aerobics, yoga, heavy lifting and gymnastics for at least 5 days (as of day before yesterday) because I managed to pull some muscles in my back and was in major pain. It's a complete nuissance but is a fantastic excuse to lie in bed all day, or to mess about on the PC.

Ouch! That sounds like it would be painful! (the falls I mean) I once saw a girl, where I ride, and she was cantering bareback, and I guess it was painful to transition to a walk for her too, because she used a saddle pad under her. I don't know if that would help, as I have never tried it, and I don't really know why she put the pad there really. It would be less painful, but, I thought it would slip out from under her....I don't know. Anyways, just a thought.

saddle pads give you that little extra padding when riding bareback...
some horse are really ocmfy anyway bareback but some can be really uncomfortable with a ehm..bony spine...
my horse is too fat and roudn at the moment to try bareback riding..i woudl just slide straight off

I rode twice at Penhalwyn stables and it was brilliant. I'm plotting to buy the pony I rode - more about this in another post - check out the General section!! :D

I've never ridden with a bareback pad despite the fact that we have two. I used to think it defeats the purpose of riding bareback. I'm starting to change my mind!
BTW, I rode him the next day, and the day after (bareback) but not for very long. Just because he'd refused to canter on the right lead. He's very bad about it, and with people who can't canter strongly yet, it's not good to argue - trust me, I fell off a few too many times!

never trot bare back is the anser!:)
walk is easy and canter is easy but trot...na-ah hehe
my haflinger is a realy funny thing...going back into trot from canter is horrible even with a saddle. Actually i wouldnt call it going back into trot..its more liek going back into running..and its horrible!hehe she can run pretty fast when she wants too and would rather run fast than canter
