I did it!!!!!Just got back from a 40 minute hack with my daughter.Nervous as hell to start with, must have had about 10 wees in the space of a half hour.Once I was in the saddle,WOW!Duchess got a little silly not wanting to stand at a junction but I made her do it and felt totally in control. We are going out again tomorrow and I,ll probably be in the toilet just the same but I,m on cloud nine at the moment.I actually rode my own horse out on a hack, can you believe it :D

Well done to you - give yourself a big pat on the back! And I'm sure the toilet trips will become less frequent as time goes on too ;)

lol thats really good, I know what its like. I was trying to jump big yesterday on my horse and i shut my eyes and held him back because I didnt want to do it and he refused twices, then 3rd time he stoped and then bunny hopped it massive! and I nearly fell of the top and the next time, he crashed through it lol. but better luck next time for me and well done to u!

Well done you - doesn't it make you feel great? I'd recommend the Rescue Remedy as well - it really does help!

Been out again today.A huge tractor (had to be yellow...Duchess hates yellow for some reason) with a big trailer came by.Duchess got really skitty, trotting sideways. My heart was in my mouth, not sure what I did but managed to keep her going forward but couldnt wait to get back to the yard after that.It knocked my confidence a bit as this is what I find scary about riding at the moment...losing control.I wanted to get off and walk by her after that but my daughter talked me through (shes being extremely patient with me for a change  )I must have been tense cos my legs were killing me when we got back to the yard.Daughter wants to go to the menage tommorrow (its a 10 min hack from the yard),not sure I,ll be able to walk let alone ride :D
Good luck with the jumping Samie :) and I,ll look into the Rescue Remedy Ann.
Your totally right horsey1 this is a wonderful forum.Just like to say thanks to everyone here.I dont think I,d have considered riding again if I had not read some of the posts here, youre all so encouraging :D

It sounds as though you are doing really well.
There is nothing like having kids to ride with to get you spurred on and I really miss having mine around to ride with (they are grown up now).
Once you start riding though you just want to do more and more.
