"Pippa Funnell lost Laspen Rock Star at Brightling Park at the weekend.

The 7 year old gelding, owned by Robert and Joanna Tomkinson, broke his leg coming out of the second water complex on the CIC** course and had to be put down."

I bought Appollo as a 4 year old off Penny after Rocky won Badminton, so he was thanks to Rocky. I liked him so much that as Robert and Jo were looking for a horse I thought it best to sell him to them. He is very impressive to ride and from his first event gave me the feel that he had been doing it for many years. Like all of the younger horses, he will have another fairly quiet season, just giving him more experience and making sure we avoid running him in the summer months when the ground is hard. He is a nightmare to clip, terrible about his tail being pulled and hates the vet. Apart from these quirks, he is a loving inquisitive youngster.
