my horse has got lots of bumps in front of her hind legs on the side of her stomach i am positive these are not bits, they are slightly raised, but not hard a bit like fluid rather than hard skin.
they are of all different shapes and sizes, some are round some are like a long lines going in diferent directions, are these heat bumps?
if not what could they be?

Sounds like urticaria (nettlerash) which is generally a contact allergy. Heat lumps caused by feed allergies/excess protein - at least as I've experienced them, no doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong - tend to come out as a rash of small spotty lumps, and pretty itchy. If it is nettlerash it'll probably disappear fairly quickly - if it doesn't settle within a couple of days I'd probably call the vet, because occasionally such lumps can harden, which is when they may start to cause a problem (depending on their position in relation to tack/rugs etc.).
