I never seem to be able to take a good picture of my new horses but here are some I took a few weeks ago. I also wasn't sure how to attach them to the email-so hopefully this will work.
The horse with the white socks and snip is Sauvy, our 11 year old Appendix mare.
The one with the blaze and no socks is Abby, the 7 year old ex race horse Thoroughbred mare.
My kids also ended up in some of the pictures, except the oldest who was at camp at the time. The kids are my 2 year old twins Ariel and Rachel, my sons Sebastian and Julian and my middle daughter Naomi.
Well, what do you think?

Awww, they're both lovely! :D I love the pic of your twins on Abby!

How is it going with them both? (the horses not the twins!) ;)

Thanks Madmum. I think we are doing quite well. It took me forever to find the right tack and I am still fiddling with different bits and bridles. There is always so much to do when you own, it's quite overwhelming. I am trying right now to reorganize my schedule so I have more time to ride. I love the barn we picked and they love being in pasture, they have already gained weight. That's why I need to work them more often. I have had several lessons on Sauvy and she did well every time, my trainer loves her. My trainer also has agreed to come to our barn for lessons, so that eliminates the hassle of hacking to lessons or trailering there. And Abby has quite surprised us by showing a real willingness to be the kid's horse. She is only seven and had never been around kids before but she seems to love them more than Sauvy does. They are both real quiet on the ground and I love their ground manners but Abby walks so carefully when the kids ride her or when I lead the twins around, she seems to be very aware of them. How is your pony? Is his leg all right now?

I'm really pleased it's going so well for you :) Its great that the children can taken an interest too!

Tally's leg isn't causing him any problems - he's still got the problem, I don't know if you saw the thread or not, I can't remember, but it's a slipping stifle. I'm riding regularly am hoping that building up some muscle will help, though he isn't exactly lacking in muscle anyway, but its worth a try! I've had some lovely hacks on him lately, he's really well behaved and I'm finally managing to relax and enjoy the scenery rather than worry about what he may or may not do! I've yet to find anything that's scared him - we've had the whole range, from tractors, to low flying jets, to birds flying out of the undergrowth in front of his face, and he just carries on without so much as a twitc :) Just need to sort out his unwillingness to canter, but that will come with time I'm sure. I had the farrier out the other day as he'd lost a shoe for the second time in a week, and I've now relieved Tally of all his shoes and he's barefoot... I'm hoping he'll adapt to it well, but we may have to take things gently for a little while.

This horse owning lark is a lot of fun isn't it :D Should have done it years ago! :D :D
