Hi everyone,
I would like to thank all of you very much for your kind words of encouragement! I'm no longer concerned with "keeping up" with the other people in my class, I'm going at my own pace.
I started leasing a beautiful chestnut mare, so I'm now fortunate enough that I can ride whenever I want.
I finally cantered the long sides of the arena, stopping to trot quite often, but I'm starting to get a "feel" for it. All of you guys' encouragement really helped.
Another thing that helped, I was alone, no body was watching in the stands, which makes me nervous. I just told my friend (who was in the back) to peek in every once in a while (for safety's sake) and then took off. Plus, I really trust the horse I'm on.
I still can't steer my horse at a canter, but she is good and slows down whenever I tell her too!
Thanks so much again,
Sara
