these pic were taken the other day...he looks better with other people driving him! a lot better...but then im only learning...he was working nicely for some of it...i blame the photographer!!
any critique apart from me needing to have my hand up so the reins are off his back?
i love the fact our school is so big (25x50 at least) so we can canter round it...yeeehaaaa!

If you are going to hold a rein in each and and not coachman rein handling try to keep your hands higher and closer together. Be proud of them. Have a go to learn coachman rein handling. Keep your whip up too, don't let it be in danger of catching in a wheel.

yeah, the whole co-ordination of hands and whip thing is a problem...i just forget!
i do tend to drop my hands whilst riding as well.
is coachman style when you have the reins threaded between different fingers on the same hand, then threaded on the other hand behind it...i know what i mean! so they end up one above the other when you hold your hands up....we did attempt that once but i spent the whole time looking at my hands and not where we were going...needless to say not that successful!
thanks for the comments and il work on these things next time i drive.

Yes thats coachman style...and it will come, honestly, try practising at home with the reins on the back of a chair - you have mastered in once you can balance the chair on one leg! As will the whip/hands thing :) Glad you enjoyed it.

Second what Esther says, keep practicing, it is much safer and you'll gain brownie points if you ever go to a show, over anyone holdiong a rein in each hand.
