Parelli's methods is a way of conecting to your horse without force.

Alot of traditional methods were to force the horse to do what the handler wanted which is bad .

I agree with some of parelli's methods and some methods i dont agree on.
Most of it is common sense its worth having a read of though,
if you type in Pat parelli into yahoo.com you will come up with a whole lot of info.

Parelli teaches everything from teaching your horse to willingly follow you
'joining up' to floating, breaking in youngesters, and training a foal
works with horses that shy, rear, bad behaviour

there theory is to introduce (example) the saddle to the horse rather than throw it on and expect the horse to enjoy it.

Oh if you type in natural horsemanship into yahoo.com it might come up with more

You can do pat parelli courses as well

They have levels 1 through to 3 or 5 (dont qoute me on that i'm not exactly sure on the amount of levels)

but it starts off getting your horses respect etc then when thats done you move on etc etc.

you do these courses corrospondence

I'm afraid that is very much open to debate.

Yann i know i was trying to advoid that :)

I agree and disagree with NH some things are great and basically common sense
Other things i wonder about

but each to their own

I was trying to say that in the past (and present) there are some nasty ways of breaking in a horse, (there is no one way of doing this)
Parelli is meant to be about getting the horse to "accept" being broken in without force my thoughts are that the horse doesnt have a choice regardless (but would preferr the less harmful way of course) which ever that maybe *i'm going to get shot* :) :)

just trying to explain parelli as best as possible anyone else jump in :)
