Title says it all really :)

I start my Stage 1 training in 3 weeks, and I cannot wait! :D There are 8 weekly 2 hour theory/practical sessions and 6 weekly 2 hour ridden sessions.

Okay, so I'm scared to death of the ridden sessions, but I'm on 2-3 lessons a week at the moment trying to get myself just about up to scratch :)

I expect I'll be posting here more for advice and to worry :p

you'll be fine, did my stage 1 earlier this year and about to start weekly course for the stage 2 exam due in Nov this year. At the time it was a little nerve wrecking purely because you dont know what to expect but looking back I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience hence going on to do the other stages

hope you are getting on well those that have started... I'm looking at doing stage 1 in February - part-time evening course.

Let us know how you get on! ;)

We've paid 160 pounds all in. On Wednesday nights we have a classroom/practical session and this week we start ridden work on Saturday afternoons, when we'll be tacking up etc. on our own and doing all the things we talked about through the week- I think. Riding for about an hour.

The exam? I'll check my equi study guide. The exam itself is separate and extra and we need to arrange that ourselves. Which reminds me, I need to sort BHS membership this November and book my exam!

My instructors have assured me my riding should be up to standard- but we're assessed this Sat so I'll sharp find out.. :( and have also told me that you have to do something pretty daft to fail BHS 1! So we'll see how daft I can be won't we?!!

Arghhhhhhhh ridden assessment  I'm dreading that bit! I've got all sorts of scary mental images that I'm trying to replace with lovely sunny ones where I ride beautifully, and the horse goes perfectly :D

ahhh so you don't jump as part of the level 1? I was thinking I'd have to be ready to jump or something! ;)

I thought it included jumping.. but if it's just 'tidying' up the skills that are already there then that's even better! As I'm a novice I didn't want to be rushed into things too much and then feel an idiot when I fell off! hehe :o :p

I can't wait for my course... gotta learn how to canter and walk poles first mind you! ;)
