how mcuh over 5 ft?
im 5'7 and ride a 145cm horse which is 14hh something.
if youa re just 5ft i would recommend that you dont get anything 17hh plus..hehe
if you think about it....12hh is 120cm at the should of the horse
13hh is 130cms at the shoudler...and if its like 12.2hh then the 2 means 2 inches higher than 12hh (i think thats right..)
it depends how big a horse or pony you are comfortble i would look for one that i could see over the back of so if you measure up a wall how high your eyes are then that might help..otherwise ask your riding instructor what she thinks!
hope i didnt confuse you adn that i made sense!

How big are the lesson ponies you ride (I'm assuming you take lessons). At 5 foot, I'd imagine you would be most comfortable on something around 13.2-14.2hh. I'm 5'5" and the smallest I feel comfortable on is 14.2hh, and prefer those of around 16hh. It's a matter of personal preference.

hehe what do you mean you dont think you would buy a horse??
you mean you dont htink you will buy a pony!? but there is being too big and being too big..its like buying shoes...while you still grow you buy them a size bigger but if you stopped growing you get one that fits you nicely...
it really depends on your experience, what you can honestly handle, what size you feel comfortable, how tall your are and may get...etc some breeds come slightly smaller than others anyway like arabs...the way i see it..if you like big horses then you should get a horse you can comfortably reach its back with because remember you gotta put a saddle on it and it would be silly to have a hrose where you would have to always stand on something to put its tack on etc.
but what size you get can also depend liek i said on the breed...
