View Full Version : How Can An Equine Dentist Tell . . .

. . . if a horse has been pregnant in its past. My friend has recently bought a 5 year old thoroughbred cross. She had the equine dentist out recently and he told her that she's had a foal in the past. It probably explains why she's such a calm laid-back horse, but how would he know? Wouldn't have thought you could tell by looking at their teeth!!

Thanks
Ann

Possibly - and don't quote me on this - he could see some evidence of temporary calcium deficiency. (NB this is a wild guess- would be interested to know. Must ask Mark next time he comes.)
