Hi I am quite interested to know why some people may put beer in their horses feed sometimes. What does it do for them?

Thanks ;)

beer is good in small quantities just like it is in humans, its all to do with the yeast i think which is living so its a good sourse of 'friendly' bacteria, good for health!!!
When me and shadow go to the pub hes not happy until hes had a pint of guiness and a bag of crisps!!!
Bless him!!! The guiness has gotta be in a glass tho!!! hee hee hee :D

LOL.......my mates horse likes guiness........soz, not much help on this one.....I think they just like the taste as it's sweet to them and is made out of (mostly) natural products..........ish....if you know what I mean.......ha ha ha......no wonder I don't post on here often.........

DJ gets Guinness in the summer. The vet recommended it because he has anhidrosis (he doesn't sweat enough to cool his body sufficiently) and the beer helps him sweat.

I think its something to do with beer being high in Iron and other trace elements.

Captain and Bonnie get a Guiness on Xmas day as well!! Something Captain's previous owners did so I promised them he wouldn't miss out on his Xmas day treat.
