Soft tissue injury

hmmm bad time for this to happen just as I want to sell him.

The vet has been to see nicky and said his swollen hind leg is due to a soft tissue injury likely to be from a kick. He wants an xray done of it. Really sounds like there isn't much for me to do about it, it may not go down :(.

Looking it up on the internet didn't help, only got me more worryed as this type of injury can be from riding in bad areans.... guess what Iv had no experience with areans but was excited to have one at the farm I grazed nicky well I was silly to ride in an the arean when it was not professionly made. So of course the surface varyed. grrrrr. I know best now and it's to late.

Next my saddle has hurt nickys back!!! It was fitted to him and I did check it to the best of my knowledge when I brought him back in to work but it has created two pressure points, so I just have to walk him in hand for that and it will heal it's self and get my saddle refitted for him.

My parents are NOT going to be happy with all these extra costs. I really can't handle it I just want to sell him so I can have a bit of a break ahhh. My exams are coming up soon as well.

i would suggest you get a CERTIFIED physio therapist or chiropractor for his back problems. there is so much more you can do than hand walking... that will not stretch his muscles enough to heal them.
for the soft tissue... they can definitely do lots for that too. injecting anti-infamitories can bring the swelling down to help prevent adhesions from forming which will lead to chronic problems.

Horses :rolleyes:. The swelling in his hindleg has gone down. It doesn't seem sore as he is happily resting the other foot, he isn't lame. He is not quite tracking up yet in the trot but is in the walk.

His back is also no longer sore, it was just muscle from the saddle not fitting in one place, he wasn't ridden for long in it either. so thats good.
