I"m bringing my horse home, and am not sure what kind of feed she should get.

Where she is now she only get's a handful of Strategy, with one flake of hay and is out on grass all of the time.

At home, she won't have hay until they need it in the winter. Strategy says it's a good feed coupled with hay.

Will switching her feed harm her?
We have tractor Supply storeds colse by that have Platform feed and it says it's good coupled with hay or pasture. So I was thinking of getting her that.

Then the other thing is I"m not sure if she qualify's for Pleasure(idle to light excercise) or Performance.

I'm guessing Pleasure, cause she isn't extensively worked when I ride her :) I"ll probably be riding her every other day now that shes home, she does dressage work and a few jumps each ride fo ran hour or less.

If she's only getting a handful, it really doesn't matter what kind it is. Just be sure that you have some kind of mineral supplement, because a handful of feed doesn't have anything like the nutritional requirements of a horse :)

It shouldn't even make a big difference to change the feed quickly. Most of the time I recommend switching feeds over gradually, to allow the gut time to adjust to the new feed, but with just a handful...I usually change over by 1/4 of a scoop at a time! That's much more than a handful.
