Does anyone know anywhere to buy the BHS books cheaply? Have had a look on ebay and there's not much going!
I need the books for stage 1............. :)

Amazon is OK, if you are a member you get 10% off from BHS

I've joined the Equestrian Book Society, and got the Stage 1 books as one of my first 4 book choices, which were dead cheap. I've also got to buy another 4 books from the next 4 magazines, and looking at the first one, I will happily do it (I can see at least 3 I want to read already!). The regular prices seem to be a few quid off, and prices start around the £10 mark.
So.... my first 4 books came in at £25, I can see the next one I will order at £10 and I reckon the next 3 will be about £45. Total spend? £80 and I'll have a fairly full bookshelf to show for it :D
I love shopping, me :D

This may sound like a stupid question (apologies if it is!) but what books do you need for stage 1? There're quite a few i.e stage 1 'training manual' and there are also various stage 1 course companions.
Then you have the progressive riding tests 1-6, and the complete manual of stable management.
Which ones have you got and which do you think you really need??! It's all so confusing..... :(

I got the official BHS one, which wasnt the best, although went through the whole syllabus and was useful (attached pic). I also used the "Stage 1:riding and stable management"
I can sell you the official one for a small price, i dont need it anymore, feel free to PM me :D

Have you tried www.abebooks.co.uk? They have lots of second hand books - might be worth a sniff.

Having got the entire bookshop (stable management, stage 1 riding and stable management and stage 1 training manual) and just finished my stage 1 I would recommend if you had to buy just one the hazel read, stage 1 riding and stable management. It contains more information than the training manual and is written in a much friendlier, easier to use way.
