I have a 14 year old TB/QH who has this condition (left back leg). He was a cattle horse for many years, so it's probably from a work related injury (slide stop etc.). He seems to be in no pain or discomfort at all & is a great horse. The condition is only detected at a walk - at a trot or canter you'd never know it. In the 3 months that I've had him & have been riding there has been no visable deterioration. This is from an old injury (at least 3 years ago). My questions is this; does it basically stablize itself or is he going to get worse? I am only using him for pleasure & lite trail riding & he is just a prince when I ride. I have him on a great suppliment that makes the stiffness almost undetectable most days ( some days after a bit more riding etc, it's a little more noticable at the walk).
Any insight/info would be greatly appreciated!
