Well, my Dr Cook bridle arrived yesterday so of course I was itching to try it on Duchess. Having read in the blurb that a very few horses might react 'exuberantly' - got my friend to ride first! I'm such a chicken (and maybe not a very good friend lol). Anyway, after a couple of trips up and down the driveway and checking that we had reasonable steering and brakes I took a trip round the block and - so far so good. None of the horrible 'yawing' that we have with a bit, still a bit nappy but certainly no worse than before and I think she actually halts better as she's not opening her mouth against the bit all the time. My friend was very impressed with it so will be lending it to her soon to try with her horse. Feel happier letting my son and daughter (both beginners) ride her now as I know they can't hurt her mouth if they are accidentally a bit heavy handed. Will keep you posted! :)

That sounds great! We really like our bitless bridles, too. :)

My Cook bridle had the same effect on Harry too, he is much better to ride in it, jumps as well in it too. :)

Hi
I am looking at using a bitless bridle and know very little about them, I would love some information on them and are they effective at fASTER work with a strong big horse. Look forward to more information.
