Ahh it wasn't that bad really but did nearly come off! :o

RI had me rising trotting and trying to let go of the saddle. I used one hand first for a bit.
2nd attempt at 'no handed' and as Kappella was cornering the paddock I'm not sure what happened but I ended up one footed trying to grab the saddle and keep my balance at the same time! hehe thankfully my right foot took my weight and I managed to sit back down again .

Other than that though..
Lesson was fab and I can now rising trot without holding on to the saddle at all!

It's great to hear your doing so well with such a small amount of lessons, try reading pony magazine it has great tips remember keep heels down and make sure your stirrups are both at a confortable level.

And i need help 2, i know your just starting but do you have any tips for cantering or jobs in Hertfordshire plez see lozhorseluva

Keep trying! :D

no tips at ALL on cantering sorry! I have never got that far, this is the start of my riding! :D
At 33 I've left it later than others! hehe
There was some good info on this site regarding rising trot though...so might be worth a search.
Everyone is friendly here too so they'll have some tips I expect. :D

What sort of job are you looking for? And where abouts in Herts? mabye I could find a site that lists the classified ad's for you. :)

It sounds like you've got a great future in trick riding :) The key it that you NEARLY fell off ... think about it in terms of you improving your balance, learning to stay on with one stirrup flapping in the breeze, conditioning your velcro knickers :)

It sounds like you're doing well, though, no hands on the third lesson

lozhorseluva - are you anywhere near Contessa in Ware? They are always happy to get people in, don't know if they'd pay though you could negotiate a free lesson and a stable management lecture (that's what I got for working there :) and it was probably worth more than I would have been paid anyway).

hehe not sure I'm ready for velcro knickers! hehe
My RI was v.impressed at the no hands! And I sat better that way too. She commented on the number of lessons we're on and also asked if I really hadn't had them before. Which is a no, I went on a couple of treks as a teen, but didn't actually learn anything... just managed to stay on the horse, despite it trying to shift me by walking under low tree's! a number of times!

Guess I've just been lucky and grasped it. ;)

Actually felt like a rider today! :D
