I'm so pleased! I'm quite a nervous jumper and at the last show I did I managed to fall off at the 4th jump! However, my riding school had a show yesterday and I decided to enter the two 2foot6 classes. The horse I rode, Kildare, was a complete angel! In the first class there were only 2 of us and I wasn't feeling that confident as the other girl was on her own pony who will literally jump anything. I went in first though and luckily they had made the course quite simple because the ground was so slippy and we were advised to trot as much as poss. To my amazement we got a clear round!! It wasn't the most stylish but we got round! The other girl also went clear. Because of the ground they didn't want to have a jump off so we had to do the whole thing again  I couldn't believe it! Kildare went clear for me again though and this round was much better. The other girl also went clear so we were joint first and I got my first ever trophy!
The 2nd class was later in the day so I had time to get scared again! I went first and rode much better, I was really riding into the fences and was really with Kildare the whole time. There were 4 clears so we had to do the whole thing yet again. To make it harder they decided we had to do the whole thing in trot (any more than 2 canter strides after a fence = 4 faults) and we all ended up with faults. I came 3rd with 1 pole down and quite a bit of canter! I find it very hard to jump out of trot so sometimes pushed on a bit to make sure we cleared it well.
Kildare was exhausted after doing 4 rounds but proved what a star he is. I'm so happy :D
