Spine Clearance

:eek: What pads are there that provide spine clearance for treeless saddles? I see that treeless saddles manufacturers recommend certain pads for "their" saddles. Why? Can't treeless saddles use different treeless pads? Thanks for any help!

There are lots of pads that provide spine clearance - the Grandeur, Mattes Spine Free, Equitex and Torsion merino wool numnah to name but a few (a huge list of suitable numnahs is on my Alternative Horse website).

Naturally the companies want you to buy their own numnahs - two reasons: 1) more money for them 2) they want to make sure you won't use unsuitable padding.
