Has anyone got, or used a Barefoot Cheyenne treeless saddle? They are made in Germany and sold by Horse and Harmony. I am thinking of buying one, and wondered what others thought.

Thre's a thread going re: the Barefoot on the Yahoo group site - haflingerfriends. Several use them as the ponies are so hard to fit and round. There are treeless available that are more affordable but the fellow who had one of these loved it. It puts your leg further back than other saddles but that's actually where the leg should be.

I don't have one, but one of my treelesses is the same design and I love it. For the price, I think it's great :)

I have one, for both of my ponies and it is wonderful! I am not a confident rider by any means but the saddle makes me feel safe and comfortable. I went on my first sponsored ride last Sunday and rode for about 3 hours in it - walk, trot and canter I managed all three and I felt comfortable all the way round! I love it.

I have one and there really comfortable. My horse put in a massive buck when out galloping the other day, and I didn't budge - it keeps you really secure.
The only thing I can say about it - and it may account for other treelesses too - is that it takes a lot of getting used to - for example, it's high at the front, so if you ride english, you need to learn to sit back a bit more. Also, I found it quite hard to jump in to start with - but i'm used to it now, so it doesn't bother me. My horse goes much better in it, and i smuch more relaxed.
