Having my first (and only) gallop. We were out in the open on a hack and the horse I was riding just took off - me and the horse in the wind with a mile or so of grass in front :D

learning the rising trot! As it stopped me bouncing around and feeling like I was on a bucking bronco! ;)

Taking Rhi into her first driving competition. When I took her into In hand Driving Pony I ws told she would never make a driving pony. Same judge pulled her in third for driving and ate his own words by saying "She looks better under harness" :D She then went on to win juniour whip and Reserve champonship. May have only been a local show but it was well worth it

Probably having my first canter it was such a thrill a bit scary but definately fun. Now all i have to do is work on improving it! :o

Having my first canter is definately my most exciting experience so far.
I was out on a hack with a more experienced group than me and the RI asked if we wanted a canter. I said that I've never cantered before and she asked me if I wanted to try anyway.
After a quick breifing about what to do we were off. I had to hold onto my saddle and it was more about my horse following the others rather than responding to my aids but it still felt amazing :D :D :D
Now I'm back to the school struggling to learn to canter "properly" but what a memory!

My first Jump was awesome. (18 inch crossrail  ) But i felt like I was FLYING. I could feel the all of bomber's muscles working under me and It was just the greatest feeling in the world.. although at the time i tried to use every excuse in the book as to why i shouldn't jump. (I lost a stirrup, My stirrups are uneven, Bomber is a western horse!, Hmm I can't seem to get him to trot..(oh right i have to squeeze..), i don't think he'll clear it, I don't think I'll clear it, maybe I should learn to canter first, we'll try this again when its not soo sunny out - i think they sun will blind him, okay i'll shut up and jump now) - evasion lasted about 10 minutes before my RI yelled at me to jump the damn horse, and after I did I didn't want to get off!

Taking an abused mare, who threw of two grand prix trainers, working with her consistently for 5 months, getting her to trust me (this was a mare that as soon as you walked towards her, she'd rear), and taking her to her first dressage show and ending up 4th. That has been by greatest accomplishment in riding to date

These are all sweet and understandable:) I don't know about mine beacause I am a beginner and have done no jumping but I must say getting into trot on my own made me feel GREAT! :D

hehe please dont laugh but the baby clear round we entered in the summer was pretty darned exciting :D that's because i was petrified of jumping anything and a year before that ever even popping a log seemed absolutely unthinkable for me!!! so, thanks to pony, that was quite an experience. we went round shakily (i did anyway ...) and mainly in trot (with the odd bunnyhop from near standstill thrown in!) but still :D

turning a horse that was supposed to be dangerous and should be pts as unpredictable into a riding horse to be proud of that happily went out and competed and won very tear inducing, wasn't dangerous deep down, was past abuse and huge mistrust of humans which had caused the behaviour! :)
