Help with my BB

have a Dr Cook, but my girl has learnt to pull through it comming back from a hack, and it rubs her terribly where the cross straps are, also wen im schooling, any pressure on the reins and she stops, a long rein and shes whizzing round like a loony (shes an ex racer).
I have very weak wrists and find it hard to try and hold her back when she gets that head on, at any other time its fine.

I added a hackamore to it, with some roundings and a flexi rein on the hackamore aswell so it only came into play when I really needed it, it seems to work well, but the hackamore cheeks rub her a bit, I also have to put so much on her head, she finds the hackamore too strong on its own even tho its a highly padded one without a curb.

I have a bit of a talent for designing things (plus I can use my new found skills as a saddler and get help from my saddlery lectures at college), so if any one has any ideas that would be great.
I hate to not use my BB, but I have been thinking or getting my mom to ride our cob in it in the school instead of the hackamore.

I tried her in mt pelham hackamore today, just down the road and back. She bobbed but was easily controllable and didnt pull through it, i twiddles the reins and she even offered her head in something that one day might resemble and outline :D Gonna try again and see if it was just a fluke
