Hi

I was thinking of doing a distance learning course, nothing too highbrow, just basic horse care/stable management stuff.

Seems to be three contenders,

Equistudy (Warwickshire college) - Horse Care Series
Open College of Equine Studies - Basic Stable Management
Linfield - Horse Care Certificates

Any views good or bad would be appreciated! :D

im doing equi -study and they are great.

The course material is easy to understand, they provide fantastic support through the tutors, you can call them or e-mail them if you have a query about a certian topic and they will explain it unitl you know it inside out.

You also get self study questions to see how you are advancing and if you choose the tutor supported you get question sheets that you answer, send back to the college and they mark for you.

You also become a student and get a student card which means cheap entry to the cinema :D

Hi, I always sign the praises of equi-study on this forum. They have always been great with me and they offer a very wide range of courses from non-qualification up to degree :)

The horse owner certificate that you can do through the BHS is well worth studying as well, normally local colleges offer these :)
