I was very pleased with him, we had been doing Riding Club Novice events all season. He ended up 17th in his section of class 2. Need to improve the flat work, which will help with the SJ, we rolled a pole. went clear XC, but 4 time penalties for being too slow. It was his first season competing, and his first 3-day, we had done a 2-day at Offchurch at the beginning of the season.
Commiserations on your outing at the 3-day. I used to take my previous mare to the 3-day, managing to come 3rd in class 1 in 2002. Moved up to class 2 in 2003, but she tied-up big time in the 10min box due to excessive heat on the day
Bug has far more potential, and hope to eventually get him to BE Novice level.

This is Patrick (Pat D'Villain), my 2* horse, sadly he injured his tendon just after his first 3*, this is him at his last event. He is a New Zealand thoroughbred but the older style of eventer)

These next two is Andre (Seal the Deal) he is a 1*/2* eventer. If you ever find a horse with a front end like this BUY IT!!! He makes a 1.50 oxer feel like a trot pole (It would take a lot of vodka to make me just another horse like I jump him!) He is also a NZ TB but a little lighter. The jumping photo is the 22nd fence on an 8 minute course when he was 15 seconds under time at the final minute marker he is an athlete!!

Last one is Chester (Bentleigh Chester) 1*/2* eventer he also has a very good front end and unfortunately I had big studs in his shoes at this comp and he came back with puncture wounds in his elbows from them! He is an Australian TB but he is also very heavy and looks more like a dressage horse, he makes time easily but I don't want to think about the pressure his legs are under!
