I love connies everyone at my yard comments on how pretty Vic is! Its really nice but he is very cheeky! He bit this girls ass today but I didn't really like her (she was riding him today and getting very braggy about how close she was to him when she didn't know I was his owner!) it was very funny but I don't encourage it! Still though its funny having a 6 year old connie he even went bobbing for apples last weekend! Since he couldn't get the apple out of his water bucket I helped! :D It was very funny!

My boy Twiglet is a Connemara...not sure that he's 100% purebred though, think he's crossed with something somewhere along the lines but I'm not sure what.
Not the best of photos but he's only just arrived.

Someday I would love to ride a connemara, but they aren't too common over here in Canada.

You'll be sorry you asked to see pictures...!
Working Connie at RDS

Showing Class Connie (the first one won I think!)

Our own lil' 14'2 Connie also went to the RDS but she was doing something far more exciting... overtaking all the other big competition horses!
Shadow

And me and her... (excuse the position...was about 2years ago!)

All purebreds except Shadow has a little bit of arab thrown in! I don't think the show ponies are very typical of "proper" connies, they should look useful and native and hardy, not just pretty! Much prefer types like Kanuma's Stan, he's so stunning and yet looks like he might actualy survive a winter here! I was actually a bit dissapointed with the Connie standard at the RDS, they had perfect conformation but none of them seemed very typical of the breed.... any of the connies in the threads above could have given them a run for their ribbons!
Gotta love that Connie attitude!

thank you, stan is irish bred, brought over when he was 2. he can survive wintering out on a freezeing welsh hill with no rug and no shelter so he is very hardy. infact we put a rug on him last year came out the next day to find it trashed, he hates winter rugs so he doesnt wear one now!
stan has won lots in the showring over here some major championships as well!
how much did it cost you to enter the RDS? its not that far from me (one short ferry trip,) but ive heard prices are enormous!!!!

hi im not sure whether i have a conn x or not!!!! in the first picture the grey mare was 12 hh, and was suposed to be a welsh moutain but my aunty reccons she is crossed with a connemara because she had 4 foals and there colourings were all different, they were grey, dun, light dun and palomino which tend to be connomara colours, the second photo was the dad of the 4 foals, he was a thoroughbred called picture post: and the last one is my mare at a show i just put in for fun!!!!
