Hi there,

I've decided to go treeless! :D

One question though, I am confused about the Torsion girth sizes. My 13hh Welsh cob (who is rather round bodied and wide) has a 42" girth on her working hunter saddle. I understand that Torsion girths are like dressage girths but having no experience with dressage girths I'm not sure what size to go for. Does anyone know how to translate this? Torsion saddles have told me she'll probably take a 22", 24" or 28" girth, which one would I be safest picking? They said I can send it back for an exchange if its the wrong size but obviously I'd love to pick the ideal size right away! Any advised would be deeply appreciated!

Thanks! :)

i think you usually half your long girth size for a dressage girth. but it depends on if the saddle has longer than normal straps.

have you seen dartmoor treefree saddles? they are similar to the torsion but have a gullet and knee rolls.

Thank you! Perhaps 22" would be about right then? I've not heard of the Dartmoors, I've gone ahead and got myself a Torsion Deluxe-Nubuk so need to find the right sized torsion girth for that! :)

22" should be right, but i have a 22" on my 16hh, but my trekker has very long girth straps
