I'm in one of those "progress" phases . . . you know how you are either plateauing or progressing (or going backwards in my case)? Well, I've just kicked through a plateau and am in a progress phase. I had my first jump lesson on Sunday - also cantered Poppy in the cross country field . . . something I've been reluctant to do b/c she goes like a train. I also had her working up and round and soft - great to feel that canter come from behind instead of her usual launch w/ her front end!
And then yesterday I got Stan working well and forward in the indoor school and not only cantered some accurate shapes (this horse hates to work), but sat a HUGE buck AND rode a really decent dressage test on him. Nice turns, accurate shapes, good upward transitions . . .
Feeling really good :) Fingers crossed now for my older daughter who's riding her first dressage competition tomorrow. Bless her cottons.
