Can any one throw any light on the Latvian horse in this country (uk).
The sire of my horse is a Latvian called "Kremlin", I would really like to find out more about the breeding, but I'm drawing a blank.

I'm affraid it's highly unlikely that a Latvian sire would be called Kremlin. There could be only 2 explanations - the sire is either not born and registered in Latvia or has it's name changed, both of with kind of rise a question abut the breeding. Although to be 100 % sure I have to take a look at the papers and pedigree.

Take a look at my website and you will have a lot questions answered about Latvian horse breed.

Thanks for the reply.
All I have for my mare is a BHD passport, which tells me her sire is "Kremlin (LAT)", dose that make any sense to you.
Her dam is a English TB.
Also have a pic of her sire.

i used to know someone in germany who had one, or they thought it was anyway ... it basically looked like a smallish (15hh or thereabouts) warmblood ...

Murphysmum - I'm sorry but 1) just by one name without even stud book number and further pedigree, there are no chances anyone will say for sure anything about this horse, whoever it might be; 2) as I said the name of the sire is DEFINITELY not given to him in Latvia, which makes me very suspicious about the breeding; 3) this LAT thing is even more doubtful. Latvian breed horses are never ever marked with LAT. The stud mark and marking for Latvian horse breed in stud books and any pedigree related documents is "LS" (2000-now), or "L" (1976-2000).

notpoodle - emmm, funny to make a picture of a breed by seeing of one horse of doubtfull origins. :D Latvians are warmbloods, but they are usually 16-16.3 hh and definitely not ones you would call smallish.
